The level and variety of changes both within and outside the workplace is unprecedented. How well you navigate these changes and handle the challenges they bring depends on your perception of the situation, your resilience skills, the coping mechanisms you employ, and the proactive steps you take to manage the aspects under your control. These factors determine your capacity to adapt to ongoing change and handle stress effectively.
In the “Adapt” part of the program you will:
- evaluate your ability to adapt to change and manage stress.
- gain valuable insight into the science behind chronic stress and its effect on your cognition, emotions and performance.
Once understanding and awareness are established, the emphasis will shift towards learning effective strategies that diminish the build-up of chronic stress by:
- motivating you to cope in constructive and proactive ways.
- showing you how to embrace a new mental perspective of any given situation; and
- demonstrating effective workload management techniques.
By the end of the “Adapt” block, you will:
- gain better insight into the warning signs of overload and chronic stress (yours and others’).
- understand how and why certain situations seem threatening, and how this perception can be changed; and
- become aware of numerous beneficial coping mechanisms.
