Good connections at work drive motivation, innovation, and collaboration, and are a crucial component of a productive and efficient workplace. Good relationships help build trust, mutual understanding, and loyalty, and contribute to a more pleasant and enjoyable work environment. Meaningful connections and interactions are fundamental to human wellbeing.
In the “Connect” part of the journey you will:
- evaluate your ability to connect and communicate effectively in a (partly) virtual world.
- understand the benefits of effective connection strategies; and
- gain an insight into the elements that enhance the depth and significance of human connections.
Once understanding and awareness are established, the emphasis will shift towards enhancing emotional intelligence by:
- practicing self-awareness: how you relate to others, what your triggers are and how to respond to them effectively.
- understanding the other: looking at the world through a different perspective; and
- applying these skills to the (partly) virtual world, where the dynamics of human interaction differ.
By the end of the “Connect” block, you will:
- be more aware of your emotions and those of others.
- be able to regulate your own emotions more effectively.
- be more mindful of the emotions of others and how to respond to them sensitively; and
- be better equipped to maintain connection and engagement while working in a digital environment.
